Orion thermal waters |
|
|
|
There are many types of natural springs. However, waters with curative properties and distinctive qualities, such as Orion thermal waters, have attracted interest throughout history.
The therapeutic properties of Orion waters may indeed be as ancient as humanity itself, but it was only in the 19th century that they began to gain admiration and recognition from the Catalan society of the time.

The depth of the spring and a singular underground circulation system impart a certain physical and chemical complexity to the waters, which withstands the passing of time.
The waters emerge from the spring at 39 ºC – 45 ºC, containing sodium-bicarbonate, fluoride, silicate and a certain amount of natural radioactivity. They are transparent and have no particular odour or taste. |
Therapeutic properties |
|
The silica content of the water has a smooth, softening action on the skin.
The radioactive content combined with the natural warm temperature has sedative, analgesic, anti-spasmodic and decongestant effects, when inhaled or applied to the skin.
The weak mineralization and the hypotonicity of the water help the organism to absorb its component elements, stimulate biliary secretion and diuresis, and facilitate the elimination of toxins.

Modernisation and constant research into thermal techniques and their therapeutic properties have brought about a new interest in spa therapy. Orion waters have been closely linked to functional recovery processes in the following pathologies:
|
· Chronic articular and abarticular rheumatism, especially degenerative osteoarthritis in all its forms, fibrositis, osteoporosis, non-acute inflammatory rheumatism (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout...).
· Rehabilitation of post-surgical osteoarticular complaints and post-traumatic sequelae.
· Chronic venous insufficiency. Postphlebitic syndrome (heaviness, cramp, oedema and skin disorders on the ankles).
· Chronic bronchitis. Bronchiectasis. Bronchial asthma.
· Peripheral arterial insufficiency. Arteriosclerosis. Intermittent claudication.
· Minor depression. Anxiety. Stress. Insomnia.
· Renal uric lithiasis. Lithotrity monitoring. Chronic cystitis.
· Biliary and gastric dyspepsia. Irritable colon (heavy digestion, aerophagy, intestinal spasms...).
· Obesity and cellulitis.
·
Pharmacological dehabituation. Tobacco dependency.
